When Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi made an appeal to our countrymen for austerity measures regarding petrol, diesel and gold, he was right. Only problem with the appeal was the optics. BJP think tank did not think and had a brain fade.
What they should have done was that they should have first announced such measures for the government first, like cutting down use of diesel and petrol for government use, curb on use of private jets for political purpose at the cost of the government money, cutting down allowances for ministers, MPs and so on and so forth.
This is politics and BJP failed here.
Traveling abroad for the PM is part of the job. Our irresponsible opposition (read Rahul Gandhi, Sanjay Raut etc.) was always expected to criticise it.
Their political advisers are correct. It is now clear that Congress, Shivsena(UBT) etc cannot hope to come back to power on majority vote. They can only hope that a few percent vote swing in minority votes will only work for them. Hence they always pitch the minorities against the majority. Their only job is to oppose whatever this government does. And they are doing it well. That it is not working is a different matter.
Now that his party is doomed, Sharad Pawar seems to be wooing Modi. To his credit he makes correct statements most of the time.
Ajit Pawar might have been corrupt but he was always forthcoming with his statements.
I think politics is an art. Very few can master it like Devendra Fadanvis. His utterances are always correct to a fault. Why his wife puts her shoe I her mouth once in a while is something I don’t understand.
Both the NCP factions are struggling for existence, just like Uddhav Thakre.
Aditya is a misfit. Raj Thakre has already lost it.
No one takes the Rane clan seriously.
Coming to our favourite Trump, he is playing a deep game. His single statement swings the US market wildly, and he makes a kill in weapons, crypto and share market. His only aim is to make money before retirement and to hell with the world. He does not care for the American people. He does not care if his own party can retain power in the next election. He speaks for himself as well as Iran, which Iran denies anyway.
China and Russia generally keep quiet and let their action speak.
It is my personal opinion that while the whole world is struggling, India has managed the crisis well with whatever constraints it has.
As a last piece, no matter what kind of democratic system you follow, the person whom you elect for four-five years is the king, be it Trump or Modi. You just hope for the best.
Often, it is the advisers to the king, who shape the nation. Let us hope for our sake, that PM Modi has good advisers.
